Danone North America
Background
Danone North America, a leading food and beverage company, partnered with EMS to manage their complex pallet operations in January 2023. With the scale of Danone North America’s operations, spanning multiple facilities and high annual pallet flows, they needed a partner capable of ensuring efficiency, transparency, and streamlined logistics. EMS was brought on board to oversee multiple aspects of Danone North America’s pallet management and to drive cost effective improvements across their supply chain.
Multi-Tiered Pallet Movement Oversight
EMS is responsible for reconciling all pallet movements across three different types of pallets, tracking and managing these movements to ensure accuracy. Additionally, EMS handles the processing of outbound pallet shipments for any sites that do not use an EDI system, ensuring that all movements are properly documented and managed even without automated systems in place. This comprehensive oversight has helped maintain an uninterrupted pallet flow across all locations.
End-to-End Invoice Reconciliation
EMS assumed responsibility for reconciling Danone North America’s invoices to prevent discrepancies and monitor external transfers to and from Danone North America’s accounts. Through systematic invoice verification and proactive management of the pallet cycle, EMS provided Danone North America with enhanced visibility into their equipment expenditures and improved financial control, reducing costly oversights.
Strategic Cost-Saving Initiatives
Leveraging their experience in equipment management, EMS introduced cost-saving initiatives tailored to Danone North America’s high-volume needs, helping with pricing reviews and forecasting. Through these efforts, EMS has helped optimise their operations, identify potential savings, and improve overall efficiency, ensuring that Danone North America continues to deliver high-quality products while managing costs effectively.
