Tayto Ireland

Tayto Ireland
Background:
Tayto Snacks, Ireland’s favourite crisps and snacks brand, saw their supply chain complexity grow, with increasing demand and pallet movements adding new layers of operational pressure. At the start of the year, EMS were engaged to streamline Tayto’s pallet management system. The objective was to optimise pallet supply, costs & ensure a smooth transition to a new pallet provider.
EMS implemented a structured plan to ensure Tayto’s pallet balance was maintained at accurate levels, correcting any discrepancies before they reached deadlines that could trigger penalties or pallet supply issues.
EMS’s weekly services now include managing de-hires, placing regular pallet orders, and reconciling invoices. These consistent touchpoints ensure that all pallet flows are carefully tracked, allowing Tayto to avoid disruptions and maintain efficient inventory levels and focus on their core business.
Operational Improvements and Cost Efficiency Gains:
Through EMS’s intervention, Tayto Snacks have seen improvements across key areas. The accurate alignment of their account balances eliminated any risk of a high audit penalty ensuring they avoid any unnecessary costs. In addition, supporting the efficient transfer to a new pallet provider over a period of months involving significant time and input for both parties. EMS’s management of weekly de-hires, monthly reconciliations, and automated returns has increased operational efficiency, reducing the time spent on manual tasks by Tayto staff. EMS has helped Tayto better control their logistics expenses while streamlining their overall pallet management process.
